Therapeutic Counsellor - MBACP

Are you feeling sad, but are too embarrassed or ashamed to tell anyone?  Do you force a smile, but inside you're feeling low, confused and alone?

Or perhaps you're living with anxiety and are a little afraid of the next panic attack around the corner - the pounding chest, the shortness of breath, the feeling of the walls closing in...?

In these strange times of pandemic, many difficult feelings such as anxiety, depression, anger, sadness, isolation or abandonment can leave us feeling more overwhelmed than ever.

Here at Emerald Therapy, you are guaranteed of a warm and compassionate space where you can 'take off the mask'  and explore the difficulties you're facing, without any fear of judgement.

Together we will unravel the root causes of what's holding you back from the happiness you truly deserve. Challenges such as trauma, difficult family relationships, stress at work, physical illnesses, addictions, or perhaps not knowing your purpose in life.

I work with adults and young people on a short and long-term basis.   You can read more about my practice, how we'd work together, and how to get in touch to arrange a session.

My Approach

As a qualified Integrative therapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to help you source your own inner wisdom, while honouring the unique way that you relate with the world.

Many of our challenges in life come from our early conditioning and the resulting belief patterns we have about ourselves - the need to be needed, the need to be liked, the need to be in control, the need to feel safe, knowledgeable, and so on.  These beliefs, as much as they are familiar or comforting, in reality keep us trapped, forcing us to live our lives in quite limited ways.

Our sessions allow you to take time out and explore what you really want in your life - what you’d like to be doing with your time, your creativity, your energy; what kind of relationships you’d like to have; and who do you really want to be?

As part of this, you'll be invited to explore all parts of yourself, including the 'shadow' parts you may try to repress or hide from others. In choosing to authentically face those parts head on, you can start to see the role that you play to inadvertently sabotage your own happiness, and how that shows up in your everyday life.

Clarity comes through open, honest sharing and deeply listening to yourself.  As insight strengthens, the heart starts to open and you feel a deeper sense of compassion for yourself and others. Trust blossoms and you tap into your true strength to move towards nourishing and lasting change.  You recognise the beauty of life and wake up to the infinite potential of your true nature - joy, pleasure and peace.

It can be hard to take the first step to make contact with a therapist.  It’s a leap of faith that can bring about mixed feelings.

What’s most important is that you find the right therapist for you

I recommend an initial FREE 15-min telephone consultation to explore how counselling could help you and address any questions you may have.  Then you can decide if you'd like to continue.

Please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss what would work best.  My practice is based in West Ealing, London and you can reach me via the contact details below.
